Emiel de Joode
Emiel de Joode is partner and attorney at law. He is also a member of the executive board of our firm. He advises his clients on employment law in a broad sense. Both in relation to individual and collective employment law. In addition, Emiel specialises in privacy law, with a specific focus on ‘GDPR in the workplace’. He advises companies, institutions and government bodies on the use of cameras in the workplace, on policies on alcohol, drugs and medication and on the protection of personal data of sick employees.
The dynamics and social aspects of employment law appeal to Emiel, as does the fact that employment law cases often require an urgent solution. “The interaction between the employer and employee is central to employment law. Given the fact that day-to-day operations require a good relationship between them, the legal aspects of this collaboration must be properly provided for and conflicts need to be resolved as soon as possible.”
Emiel regularly blogs about current topics in employment law and privacy law. At the end of 2019, he wrote a White Paper on Alcohol, Drugs and Medication Policy (ADM) within organisations.
Emiel enjoys sports. He as an active player of outdoor football, runs regularly and enjoys long-distance skating. He has completed the Alternative ‘Elfstedentocht’ tour on the Weissensee on two occasions. He also loves music and regularly plays the piano.
