Bob is a senior lawyer specialising in all aspects of employment law. However, his focus is largely on reorganisations and the legal position of civil servants. He has been working as a lawyer since 2008, and joined THNa on 1 November 2017.

Bob studied Dutch Law (private law and company law) at Erasmus University Rotterdam, and graduated in 2002. He subsequently completed his post-academic specialist training in Employment Law (PALA).

Before practising law, Bob spent six years as a legal adviser, also specialising in employment law and civil service law. Since the Netherlands introduced new legislation in 2020, he has become the country’s leading expert on normalised civil service employment, which is now governed by regular Dutch employment law. He has published a book on the topic: Arbeidsrecht in modellen (2020).

Bob also has extensive experience with individual and collective redundancies. He counsels organisations through their entire reorganisation, from the preparations until the process has been completed. His clients value his strategic and practical approach. He not only advises on active cases, but also anticipates legislative changes that could impact his clients’ operations.

Bob regularly publishes about the latest developments in employment law. He and his colleagues organise workshops and events to provide an informal setting where clients can find out more about important changes and trends in the law.
