Matthijs is a lawyer and partner with THNa, and a member of the firm’s Construction Market Group. With years of experience in civil construction law, he is an expert adviser and litigator. He is in his element when helping his broad client base with their civil construction law matters. Those clients vary from municipal authorities to housing corporations, property developers and contractors in the Netherlands, and he advises or represents them as necessary.
Matthijs is a specialist in matters involving development and construction contracts, including contract templates, sale and purchase agreements, partnership agreements and standardised consultancy agreements. He draws on his legal expertise and his practical experience to find the best solution for his clients, whether in drafting their contracts or in handling their disputes.
Matthijs van Leeuwen shares his expertise by lecturing on various aspects of civil construction law. He is also an active member of Dutch construction law association VBR-A.
