Rico van den Brink has been a lawyer since 2020, working as part of THNa’s Construction, Administrative Law and Public Procurement team. He specialises in public procurement law and construction law, with a particular focus on infrastructure works (such as bridges, quays and locks) and non-residential construction. He also handles matters involving responsible public procurement, including for sustainable, circular and innovative procurement.

Rico advises both procuring agencies and market operators on a comprehensive range of legal issues. He has extensive experience with matters such as invalid tenders (e.g. tenders that do not meet the specifications or that quote an unusually low or unacceptably high price), repairing defects, material changes to government contracts and disputes about choosing selection criteria and awarding contracts.

Besides public procurement law, Rico also advises property developers, contractors, housing corporations and other construction and real estate companies. He helps them to form their contracts and manage risks for complicated construction and area development projects. He also counsels clients in disputes about contract extras, defects in the work and loss or damage from project delays.

Rico van den Brink teaches various in-company training events and courses.
